Foodservice provider Bidfood has unveiled its 2017 Christmas range comprising 120 new products, bringing the festive range to 750.
The new range was developed using industry insights, advice from operators and tasting sessions with chefs.
The emerging trends revealed a demand for free-from food and of the 120 new products, 10% are gluten-free including: Northcoast Seafoods' smoked salmon and dill naked fishcakes; Premium Selection brie and beetroot chutney tarts in kale pastry; and Everyday Favourites baked winter cheesecake.
Fish options include Northcoast Seafoodsâ raw lobster tails; Pacific West slipper lobster; Premium Selection king scallops with chilli butter; and smoked salmon and prosecco centre parfait.
The dessert selection contains Kara snowball sparkle cakes; Premium Selection individual truffle torte with a gold shimmering profiterole; and Premium Selection individual gold bars.
Gail Bridgeman, campaign controller at Bidfood, said: âWhile the holiday season is a time of indulgence, we also need to be mindful of different dietary requirements, such as free-from. This has been a big focus for us over the last 12 months, which is why weâve created the largest selection of gluten-free options to date and have a dedicated section for these items within our Christmas brochure. Weâve worked hard to ensure we offer products for everyone, regardless of allergies, and without compromising on taste.
âChristmas is arguably the biggest and busiest time of year for foodservice businesses. To ensure that operators are capitalising on this, weâve developed this yearâs range to cater for all customer demographics and price points. This doesnât just mean food, we also have drinks, tableware, glassware, crockery and partyware items."
The full range goes live on 1 September. The products can be purchased online, or in the Christmas from Bidfood magazine which contains allergen symbols and cooking instructions.
