Contract caterer Blue Apple has announced a partnership with Launceston Place chef patron Ben Murphy.
Murphy will work on a consultancy basis and will be involved in co-hosting events for clients and delivering workshops for the Blue Apple chef and culinary team.
The contract caterer said the chef had a “natural ability” to train people and that his expertise would help develop its team members.
“I’ve always wanted to ‘give back’ to the industry and this is an incredible opportunity I feel for me to showcase my experience and passion for what I love to do,” said Murphy.
Murphy previously worked under Pierre Koffmann at the Berkeley in London and has also cooked at the three-Michelin-starred Les Prés d'Eugénie in the south of France; three-Michelin-starred Épicure Restaurant at Le Bristol in Paris; and the two-Michelin-starred Greenhouse Restaurant in Mayfair, London.
He was named Young National Chef of the Year in 2012 and was promoted from head chef to chef patron at Launceston Place in 2021.
Chris Ribaudo, culinary director at Blue Apple, said: “I am super excited to be working alongside Ben and I know his skills and passion will be a credit to our business. Welcome onboard, chef!”
