The 54-bedroom Barnett Hill hotel near Guildford, Surrey, has been awarded four AA stars and two AA rosettes following a £1.5m refurbishment.
The main house, comprising 18 bedrooms, the Oak Room restaurant, lounge and wedding garden suite, have have all been refurbished.
Utopia Leisure, the parent company of Alexander Hotels and Utopia Spas, a south England-based luxury boutique hotel company, acquired Barnett Hill in September 2016 for an undisclosed sum from the Sundial Group. Utopia announced the property was to undergo a "total renovation", which completed just two months ago.
The hotel also recently appointed Lee Young as head chef. He was formerly a senior sous chef with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and a junior sous chef at Heston Blumenthal's Hind's Head at Bray.
Sister hotels to Barnett Hill include Alexander House in Turner's Hill, West Sussex; Langshott Manor in Horley, Surrey; and Rowhill Grange hotel in Wilmington, Kent.
