Asma Khan’s Darjeeling Express to return to Kingly Court

Asma Khan has announced that her restaurant Darjeeling Express will be returning to its "spiritual home" in London’s Kingly Court.

Khan posted a video on Instagram of herself and her all-female kitchen with the caption: “We are returning to our spiritual home – and in a bigger space! This was where we began our journey five years ago - an #AllFemaleKitchen serving the food of our families.

“It is a joyous #Homecoming! Details of opening date and how to make reservations will follow soon. @carnabylondon #KinglyCourt”

It comes after Khan confirmed that her restaurant had found a “permanent home” on 20 October.

Darjeeling Express first opened in Kingly Court in 2017. Khan then passed on the site to Imad Alarnab of Imad’s Syrian Kitchen, who opened his restaurant in 2021.

Khan moved her team to a 120-cover venue in Covent Garden but announced this March that she will be taking on a different venue to “show off” her all female team.
