The Asian Curry Awards will be split across three regional ceremonies this year in London, Edinburgh and Manchester, all of which will be broadcast live online.
The ceremonies will take place at Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott hotel, in London on 30 November, in Edinburgh on 7 December and in Manchester on 14 December, following customer nominations gathered across the year.
Organised by the Asian Catering Federation, the awards categories will cover a range of national cuisines, including Chinese, Bangladeshi, Indian, Thai and Middle Eastern, also including Chef of the Year, Newcomer and Lifetime Achievement categories.
Chairman of the Asian Curry Awards Yawar Khan said: “During these difficult times, we need more support from the government, and the Asian Curry Awards 2020 are a wonderful way to give recognition to hardworking people in the Asian food industry.”
Andrew Kenny, managing director of Just Eat, said: “Just Eat has worked closely with the Asian Catering Federation for a number of years. During an exceptionally challenging year, I’m delighted to celebrate our partnership by helping to recognise those who have worked tirelessly through the last 10 months and continue to do so.”
Curry Club founder and judge Pat Chapman added: “Things have always been tough for the curry restaurant sector with immigration regulations and competition, and the virus has enforced closures (some permanent) and loss of income, so this year, more than ever, it is a pleasure to be involved in these uplifting ceremonies.”
Nominations can still be submitted here before 13 November.
