Arturo Granato appointed head chef at Galvin La Chapelle

Arturo Granato has been appointed head chef at Galvin La Chapelle in London.

Before joining the restaurant Granato was head chef at London’s Michelin-starred Club Gascon and executive chef at the Millennium Hotel Mayfair, which was awarded three AA rosettes during his tenure.

He has also worked at L’Etranger and the Greenhouse in the capital and spent his earlier career in Italy in restaurants in Venice and Brescia.

Galvin La Chapelle was opened by chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin in 2009 in a Grade II-listed former school hall. It has held a star in the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland since 2011.

Granato has launched a new menu celebrating the arrival of spring, with dishes including barbecued white asparagus, miso, aged Parmesan, wild hop and spring truffle; and wild garlic risotto, poached lobster, colonnata lard and preserved lemon.

On 9 May the restaurant will host a charity dinner in aid of Les Caves de Pyrene’s Ukraine appeal, with an auction of rare wines, vineyard tours and dining experiences.
