Ray Goertz has been appointed general manager of the five-AA-star Arch London hotel in Marylebone.
He replaces Eva Mount, who was appointed general manager of the 82-bedroom property in 2015 following the departure of Michael Voigt. Mount has joined the Athenaeum hotel in London as general manager, replacing Jeremy Hopkins, who had held the position for five years.
Most recently, Goertz was general manager of the Courthouse hotel in Shoreditch.
He trained at Birnam Business College Hotel School in Johannesburg, South Africa and moved to London in 2004, working his way up from reception supervisor to general manager over 11 years. He has opened four hotels in London, including ME London and M by Montcalm, and worked at the Ritz as revenue manger.
He said he was "thrilled" and "very proud" to join AB Hotels to run the boutique hotel.
