Anthony Pender stands down as chair of British Institute of Innkeeping

Anthony Pender is to stand down as chairperson of the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) after four years in the role.

The industry body has begun the search for Pender's replacement and said it is looking for an applicant to "focus on delivering the strategic plan, enhancing the benefits available to the organisations' members and giving a renewed focus on its in-house training offer."

Pender commented: "It's been a fantastic four years working with a large team of both team members at Farnborough and exceptional individuals who volunteer their time to make the BII tick.

"As a team we've focused the organisation on its key principles of training, professionalism and standards. With a stable foundation now in place and clear direction, there is the real chance to continue the growth of the BII and ensure it supports the future of the pub and hospitality workforce."

Any enquiries should be made to chair of the BII governance committee Greg Mangham at greg.mangham@bii.org
