Angela Hartnett is to open a restaurant focused on an open range at Portetta, the hotel in the French Alps owned and operated by the Lime Wood Group.
Serving Italian mountain food, inspired by the local Savoyard style, Cucina Angela is set to open in December to replace the hotel's existing restaurant.
It will be the latest venture undertaken by Hartnett in conjunction with the Lime Wood Group. She started working for the company when she launched Hartnett, Holder & Co in 2013 with Luke Holder at the five-red-AA-star, 32-bedroom Lime Wood hotel in Lyndhurst, Hampshire.
As well as being on the board of directors of the Lime Wood Group and sister company Home Grown Hotels, which owns and operates the Pig collection of hotels, she is also heading up the opening of the HH&Co Backstage cookery school at Lime Wood next week.
Cucina Angela will build on the relaxed, casual style of Portetta, which features textured reclaimed wood and stone for the floors and bar, oversized banquette sofa seating, leather chairs and wooden tables.
Located in Courchevel Moriond (1650), Portetta comprises a 38-bedroom hotel, six duplex lofts and four mountain lodges. It only opens during the ski season from December to April.
