Chef Andrew Sheridan has acquired a coffee shop, bar and brunch venue opposite his Black & Green restaurant in Worcestershire, which he launched in May 2022.
Sheridan and his business partners Sam and Emma Morgan have confirmed the addition of the Garrity in Barnt Green to their Open Restaurant Group portfolio.
The group are also behind 8 by Andrew Sheridan in Liverpool and bistro Oxa in the Wirral, which took over the former site of the Michelin-starred Fraiche restaurant.
Current owners of the Garitty, Alex and Jules Smith, will remain part of the business with support from the Open Restaurant Group.
Sam Morgan said: “The Garrity is a bar we all know well. It’s located opposite Black & Green, and many of our guests go there for pre and after dinner drinks, alongside the fact we have known Alex and Julie for many years it made sense for us to support the next part of their journey.”
Sheridan, who won the Welsh heat of the BBC's Great British Menu in 2019, added: “I look forward to working with Alex and Jules at the Garrity to help develop their menus and food offering.”
