Andrew Brownsword's Minster Mill to open as standalone hotel next month

Andrew Brownsword's Minster Mill is set to relaunch following a £4.5m refurbishment that has seen its establishment as a standalone hotel.

The 38-bedroom property in Minster Lovell, Oxfordshire will relaunch on 11 March as a separate operation to neighbouring sister property the Old Swan, having previously operated together as the Old Swan and Minster Mill.

The group acquired the property from the De Savary family in 2016.

Set within a 20th century mill and standing on the foundations of a mill that was documented in the 1086 Domesday Book, the new property has been designed by owners Andrew and Christina Brownsword working alongside architect Simon Morray-Jones, with individually designed Scandi-style bedrooms.

A new restaurant at the front of the property will also open to residents and non-residents, serving seasonal British food, headed up by 2017 MasterChef: The Professionals semi-finalist Tom Moody (previously at sister hotel, the Slaughters Manor House).

Minster Mill will also have the facilities to host events with capacity for up to 120 guests and six additional private spaces available for private dining, or can cater for gatherings or meetings for up to 200.

Rooms start from £150 per night.

Andrew Brownsword Hotels, AA Hotel Group of the Year 2017-18, owns a portfolio of 14 hotels, including Gidleigh Park in Chagford, Devon; the Bath Priory; and five city centre Abode-branded hotels. Andrew and Christina Brownsword additionally own and operate the Imperial Torquay.
