Adam Rowledge leaving Georgian House to launch consultancy

Adam Rowledge, general manager of Georgian House in London, has announced he is leaving the hotel to start his own consultancy business.

Rowledge joined the 60-bedroom hotel in Victoria in 2015 and took the Grade II-listed property from four to five AA stars under the guide's guest accommodation category. He will leave his role in July and a replacement is being sought for the role.

Rowledge Associates will focus on a "people-first approach to business", offering support and training on improving internal engagement by focusing on well-being and development, to lower employee turnover and recruitment costs as well as increasing service delivery and reducing absenteeism.

He said: "I'm extremely excited to launch the consultancy and work with partners from across the hospitality industry. My focus will be to help businesses to be value led, optimise recruitment and to develop leadership and well-being strategies to improve profitability."

Rowledge was named Independent Hotelier of the Year at last year's Independent Hotel Show Awards and won the Young Manager Award at the British Travel & Hospitality Hall of Fame in 2017. He was also awarded a Master Innholder scholarship on the Cranfield Talent Development Programme in 2015 and won an Acorn Award in 2012.

Starting his career at Hotel Du Vin in Henley-on-Thames in 2007, he took the position of front of house manager at Hand Picked Hotels' Nutfield Priory Hotel & Spa before moving to South Lodge hotel in March 2011 and then the Hempel hotel in London, before returning to the Nutfield as deputy general manager. Prior to Georgian House, he was general manager of the Bannatyne spa hotel in Hastings.
