Even before Charlie Brodie graduated from University College Birmingham with a first in food management in 2011, her potential had been noted. In fact, within the first fortnight of a 12-month internship at Indianapolis Marriott Downtown in the US, she was promoted to restaurant supervisor.
She returned to the UK for the 2012 Olympics as operations management graduate at the Kensington Marriott. Her next stop was with the opening team for London Edition as event operations manager, delivering a budget of more than £200,000 in the first year.
Brodie also strives to attract younger generations to the industry by appearing on judging panels and industry forums. She is no stranger to accolades, winning a Catey for HR Team of the Year 2016 and CIPD Award (finalist) for Best Recruitment and Talent initiative in 2016.
