Charlotte Horler, the 2016 Acorn Scholar, has been appointed front of house manager at the Red Carnation Hotel Collection's Montague on the Gardens.
She will join the four-silver-AA-star, 100-bedroom hotel in Bloomsbury, London on 17 October, from her current position as operations manager at the four-AA-star, 72-bedroom Billesley Manor hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire.
âI was inspired to work for the company having attended the Cateys in July and see Bea Tollman, the founder of Red Carnation, receive the Lifetime Achievement Award,â said Horler. âI liked the ethos of the business. I was told that the position at the Montague was available and after two interviews, I was offered the job.â
Â
In her new role Horler will head up the front office, night, concierge, revenue and reservations teams.
She will leave the Hotel Collection, the operator of Billesley Manor, after five years with the company, having joined the group as head receptionist at Walton Hall, which at the time was a sister property and is now operated under AccorHotelâs Mercure brand.
âI regard the move as a massive step as it will be the first time I will have worked in London, which I believe will open up many more opportunities,â added Horler.
During the selection process for the 2016 Acorn Scholar, 25-year-old Horler told the judges that her goal was to become a general manager before the age of 30.
