AccorHotels confirms signing of two new Mercure hotels

The Mercure Warwick Honiley Court in Warwickshire, will consist of 62 bedrooms and will open as a Mercure hotel before the end of 2017.

The Mercure Walsall Barons Court in Walsall , previously a Best Western hotel, has 94 bedrooms and will open as a Mercure at the beginning of next year.

Both hotels have been signed under franchise agreements with the Talash Hotels Group. The new hotels are the fifth and sixth signings AccorHotels has made with the group.

Ravi Kathuria, director of the Talash Hotels Group said: “We are thrilled to be expanding our partnership with AccorHotels adding to the number of Mercure hotels we have in our portfolio six across the North West and the West Midlands. The expansion of our partnership strengthens our spring board to the future ventures that we at Talash Hotels Group have in our sights.”

These new additions will bring the Mercure network in the UK to 82 hotels.

Speaking of the signings, Philip Lassman vice president of development AccorHotels UK & Ireland said: “Accelerating our franchise growth in the UK is a key focus for us. The Mercure brand alone has shown solid growth over the past 12 months with 11 new signings in 2017, and we look forward to opening further Mercure hotels later this year and in early 2018. These new additions will bring the Mercure network in the UK to 82 hotels as the brand continues to prove a strong and desirable solution for owners and a popular choice for guests.”

AccorHotels has more than 4,200 hotels, resorts and residences in 95 countries. Its portfolio comprises brands including Raffles, Sofitel, Fairmont, Novotel, Ibis and Mercure. Mercure has over 750 hotels in 58 countries.
