2018 Acorn Awards: Closing date for entries fast approaching

Nominations are now open for the 2018 Acorn Awards, which recognise 30 of the most exciting hospitality operators under the age of 30.

The closing date for nominations is 26 January 2018.

The Acorns, run in partnership with our sponsor ACT Clean, recognise entrants from all sectors of hospitality - pubs, bars and restaurants to hotels and foodservice operators. All will be judged by a panel of industry experts from each sector.

Now in their 32nd year, the Acorn Awards have recognised and honoured many people who have gone on to become big names in the industry over the years, including 2016 Hotelier of the Year Craig Bancroft of Northcote in Langho, Lancashire; Edward Fitzpatrick, food and beverage operations manager, Chewton Glen, New Milton; Matthew Drinkwater, general manager of the Nadler Victoria hotel in London and chefs Jason Atherton, Marcus Wareing and Tommy Banks.

There are only three criteria for nominees: they must work in the hospitality industry, be under the age of 30 on 4 June 2018, and be available for the winners' weekend, which will take place at The Lygon Arms, Worcestershire on the 3 and 4 June 2018.

After a series of team-building activities and an informal dinner on the Sunday, a formal presentation lunch will take place the following day.

John Stevenson, chief executive officer, of ACT Clean, said: "We are extremely proud to be involved with the Acorns and we can't wait to see which applicants the esteemed judges deem worthy of such an accolade in 2018."

The closing date for nominations is 26 January 2018.

Nominations for the 2018 Acorn Awards should be completed online by visiting www.acornawards.co.uk.
