£1b plans for London's Olympia include two hotels

Olympia London is set to get two new hotels and more restaurants should £1b plans go ahead to transform the venue.

Equity investor Yoo Capital acquired the exhibition venue from Capco for £296m last year and is leading the project. Olympia has hosted events including the Independent Hotel Show and the Speciality Fine Food Fair.

According to the Evening Standard, £700m will be ploughed into the site over the next four years with further investment expected to follow.

The plans also include a new 1,500-seat theatre, another performing arts venue, a cinema, a co-working office and a conference centre.

A public exhibition outlining the plans is currently on display and a planning application is expected to be submitted to Hammersmith and Fulham Council later this year.
