Electronic point of sale (EPoS) systems may have replaced traditional cash registers, but they are much more than glorified calculators. Rather, they are all-inclusive software and hardware solutions that manage every aspect of a restaurant business. This can be anything from taking orders and sending them directly to the kitchen to processing payments, tracking inventory, generating detailed reports and supporting marketing and loyalty programmes.

Tabology for the fully-formed or fledgling business

What is it? Tabology offers an iPad-based EPoS specifically for hospitality.

What does it do? The Essentials Plan is £39 per month and includes everything needed to run a business, as well as reporting, stock management, loyalty and gift cards, kitchen management and mobile ordering.

The Pro Plan is £59 per month and designed for growing hospitality businesses. It includes a built-in booking system, loyalty customer relationship management, staff scheduling tools and multi-site management.

Tabology works with several card payment partners, allowing businesses to shop around for the best rates.

What the industry says Mother Kelly’s operates four London bar and bottle shops. People and development manager Steven Collins says: “We’ve quickly seen the benefits of having a single, integrated system. It cuts out an entire step from the stocktake process. The multi-site dashboard allows us to quickly add new products, transfer stock between venues and report on the business as a whole and at site level.”
