Slovenian beers from Lasko Beer UK

A new company, Lasko Beer UK, has been set up to import beers and lagers from Slovenia’s largest brewer. The Lasko Brewery was founded in 1825 and was one of the first in the world to register a beer trademark (Thermal Beer) towards the end of the 19th century.

The launch line-up comprises three speciality beers that are available in 330ml and 500ml bottles or 30-litre kegs: Lasko Zlatorog (4.9% abv), a crisp, premium blond lager with a complex hoppy bitterness; Lasko Club Export (4.9% abv), a premium blond, golden-yellow beer with a smooth, balanced, mildly bitter flavour; and Lasko Dark (5.9% abv), a dark, elite lager with a green-gold velvety colour and caramel and malt flavours.

UK director Charles Gardner said the beers reflected Slovenia’s border with Italy and its Mediterranean coastline, adding that they matched well with pasta dishes, seafood and grilled meat.
