Waverly Castle hotel in Melrose has been sold to Leisureplex Hotel Group for an undisclosed sum.
It is the latest property in the Coast & Country Collection to change hands after a portfolio was put on the market earlier this year.
Set within five acres of parkland, the 77-bedroom hotel offers views of the Eildon Hills and can act as a base for guests to explore the Scottish Borders.
Waverly Castle will become the 23rd property in the Leisureplex Hotel Group.
Gary Witham, director in Christie & Co’s Scottish Hospitality team, who acted for the seller, said: “The property is one of the 33 hotels positioned in leading resort and leisure destinations across England, Scotland and Wales, that we are currently marketing on behalf of the Coast & Country Hotel Collection.
“The hotels have received very strong interest to date, and a limited number of these assets remain available, so we invite any interested parties to get in touch.”
Other Coast & Country hotel properties sold this year include the Claymore hotel in Scotland, which was bought by Caledonian Leisure, and the Golden Lion in Norfolk, which was acquired by holiday operator L & J Leisure.
Enquiries regarding the remaining Coast & Country Hotels on the market should be directed to Jeremy Jones, head of hotel brokerage at Christie & Co.
