The Academy by Simon Rogan is accepting entries from prospective student apprentices for its September intake of front and back of house staff.
The scheme, which was launched in partnership with Kendal College in Cumbria in 2021, is now in its third year and continues to encourage students to consider a career in hospitality.
Successful applicants will receive practical experience while working on five-monthly rotations across Rogan’s Lake District restaurants.
They will also be invited to work on special events and spend time on Rogan’s farm near Cartmel, which supplies produce to the three Michelin-starred L’Enclume, the Michelin-starred Aulis, Rogan & Co, and Henrock at Linthwaite House.
A part of the 15-month course is dedicated to structured study for accredited qualifications and is provided by Kendal College’s Culinary School.
The programme ends with a fully expensed week-long stagiaire at one of Rogan’s overseas Michelin-starred restaurants.
Speaking to The Caterer in February last year, Rogan said: “We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and the aptitude of those students. We’ve still got 12 out of the 15 left now – we never thought we would get anywhere near that success rate.”
Those who wish to apply should send a copy of their CV and a covering note outlining their interest in hospitality and the Academy.
The course will start on 23 September.
