Restaurateur Marco Pierre White and jockey Frankie Dettori are to open their fifth Frankie's Italian Bar & Grill, in London's Selfridges department store, next Wednesday (26 July).
The duo's first department store unit will be housed in what was Café 400, on the lower ground floor near the Cook Shop.
Ewan Venters, director of food and catering at Selfridges, said: "We felt our current F&B offer lacked a family-friendly option. We think Frankie's will be a hit with shoppers but will also attract strong trade in the early evenings, especially with the theatre crowd."
Based at Oxford Street, the restaurant will provide 76 covers on a 230sq m site, and serve salads, pasta, pizza and grill items. Further tie-ups at Selfridges' Birmingham and Manchester stores could be on the cards if the London concession is successful.
Frankie's currently operates in London's Chiswick, Knightsbridge and Putney.
