Gordon Ramsay Group is to convert what was the site of Foxtrot Oscar at 79 Royal Hospital Road into a third Maze Grill restaurant.
Due to open in early May, the 55-cover restaurant, inspired by the grillrooms of Manhattan, will offer rare breed steaks, fish and poultry from the grill, alongside a selection of small plates, salads, sushi and sashimi.
Its planned launch follows the decision to open a Maze Grill in the site of what used to be Aubergine at 11 Park Walk in London, following Ramsay's acquisition late last year of the restaurant that launched his career as a chef-restaurateur.
Stuart Gillies (pictured), managing director, Gordon Ramsay Group said: "Following on from Maze Grill Park Walk (set to open on 22 April), we are delighted to be re-opening in Chelsea. Our flagship Maze Grill in Mayfair continues to thrive and we are now growing the brand by extending into cosmopolitan neighbourhood locations.
"The Royal Hospital Road and Park Walk restaurants will offer casual, informal all-day dining and we will look at other locations for this already proven format."
The new Maze Grill restaurants will take their name from Maze and Maze Grill, both located at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square hotel.
Maze was the restaurant that helped launch the career of Jason Atherton. He helped to open the restaurant alongside Gordon Ramsay in 2005, and was made chef-patron of the Maze group, taking it to six restaurants before he left the business in 2010.
Several of those restaurants have since closed, but Maze by Gordon Ramsay at 151 West 54th Street in New York remains and there will be a total of five Maze and Maze Grill restaurants again, once the Park Walk and Royal Hospital Road sites open.
