Pret A Manger has reported turnover of £710m for its UK business, an increase on £636.9m last year.
However, according to documents filed with Companies House for Pret A Manger (Europe), the sandwich chain saw a decrease in pre-tax profit from £64.9m to £48.8m in the year ended 3 January 2019.
The group said its UK business had a good performance despite the challenging market of political uncertainty and significant increases in business rates. Following its acquisition of Eat in July, Pret confirmed the plan is to convert as many of the 94 Eat shops as possible to Veggie Prets. There are currently four in London and Manchester, with 389 Pret outlets in the UK in total.
