Nobu reportedly closing Berkeley Street restaurant

Nobu is reportedly set to vacate its Mayfair restaurant in Berkeley Street, 15 years after opening.

Landlord LRC has instructed agent Knight Frank to market the Berkley Street site after the group surrendered its lease, according to Property Week.

The decision comes ahead of the opening of the Nobu hotel in London Portman Square this summer.

The Berkeley Street restaurant had held a Michelin star between 2006 and 2014.

Nobu Hospitality, the lifestyle brand founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, operates the Shoreditch Nobu hotel, which opened in 2017, and a second standalone Nobu restaurant at the Como Metropolitan hotel in Old Park Lane, which opened in 1997.
