Nine Group has signed an agreement with Radisson Hotel Group to brand a hotel under-development next to the O2 Arena in Greenwich as a Radisson Red.
Nine Group acquired the hotel site two years ago out of administration.
Opening in 2020, the 70-bedroom Radisson Red London Greenwich will join the group’s two other properties operating under the upscale lifestyle brand in the UK in Glasgow and Liverpool.
The hotel will offer a bistro, bar, and a gym and is part of an £8b project to redevelop Greenwich Peninsula featuring new residential, retail and office space.
Elie Younes, executive vice-president and chief development officer, Radisson Hotel Group, said: “Opening in 2020, it perfectly blends business and play around the O2. A sincere appreciation goes to our partners for their trust in our people and our brands.”
Vivek Chadha, owner of Nine Hotel Group, said: “We’re thrilled to have signed the agreement to bring a Radisson Red hotel to this side of London… Our hotel will be a representation of the culture and talent the arena attracts.”
Vijay Thakkar, co-owner of the hotel, added: “We’re excited to ink the deal with Radisson Hotel Group to bring a Radisson Red property to London. The hotel shall attract both business and leisure travellers, and I am eagerly looking forward to its grand opening.”
Nine Group is the owner and operator of 14 branded hotels in the UK, including the Mercure St Albans Noke hotel, the Crowne Plaza Basingstoke and the Novotel London Heathrow Airport. It also has joint ownership of the Dragon hotel in Swansea.
