German hotel company RIMC Hotels & Resorts has acquired Signature Living’s former 30 James Street hotel in Liverpool out of administration for an undisclosed price.
Duncan Gray, managing director of RIMC UK, said: “We are delighted to have acquired 30 James Street as our first UK acquisition and plan significant investment into the property and business to create an exciting and unique offer, befitting of such a prestigious building in the fantastic city of Liverpool.”
The Grade II-listed, 63-bedroom property was once the headquarters of the White Star Shipping Line, famous for being the owner of the RMS Titanic.
The wider Signature Living group entered administration in April 2020, leaving several of its associated hotel projects in limbo.
Tom Cunningham, hotels director at Savills, which oversaw the sale on behalf of administrators Moorfields Advisory, added: “We’re pleased to complete on the sale of this iconic city centre hotel. 30 James Street provides quality accommodation and desirable amenities in a standout location, and we look forward to seeing the hotel take on its next chapter.”
DWF Law acted for the purchaser. Law firm Hogan Lovell acted for the vendor.
