He took up the general manager post at the Wiltshire hotel just over a year ago and a search for his successor is underway.
Michele Mella is to step down as general manager at Whatley Manor in the next few months.
He joined the Wiltshire hotel last year following the departure of long-time manager Sue Williams.
Mella has yet to confirm his next move but a search for his successor at Whatley Manor is already underway.
During his time at the hotel, Mella saw the return of Grey’s Restaurant to seven-day service and the introduction of an à la carte menu in its Michelin-starred restaurant, the Dining Room.
Whatley Manor owners Christian Landolt and Alix Landolt said: “We would like to express our gratitude to Michele for his leadership and the contribution he has made to the team.
“We wish him continued success in his future endeavours and look forward to the next chapter for Whatley Manor.”
Before joining Whatley Manor, Mella worked as chief partnership and director at Celebrated Experiences.
His previous roles include general manager at Barnsley House and the Village Pub near Cirencester from 2009-2022, and a variety of positions including deputy general manager at Calcot Manor in Tetbury from 1998-2009. He is also a Master Innholder.
