London bar group Maven Leisure is aiming to raise £2m in growth capital to expand in the capital.
The company said the Growthdeck fundraise would allow it to open new sites in central London, including a landmark sports bar and rooftop bars in two of “the most iconic locations in the capital”.
Maven currently operates four central London sites, including Wagtail (pictured) on a rooftop in the City of London and three sports bars.
It was founded in 2021 by Ed Martin and the management team of ETM Group, which is behind sites including the Botanist in Sloane Square and has grown from a single site to a business turning over £33m.
Maven saw revenue rise to £10.2m and EBITDA increase to £1.4m at the end of the last financial year and said its new venues would drive further growth.
Ian Zant-Boer, chief executive at Growthdeck, said: “Maven Leisure have a proven track record for establishing their venues as leading hospitality destinations in the City.
“Our investment in Maven is based on our strong belief in London’s thriving hospitality scene and Ed, Landen and Graham. This fundraise offers investors a brilliant opportunity in the City’s premium bar market.”
Maven’s management team is led by Martin, chief financial officer Prescott Brann, who joined from Itsu in 2016, and chairman Graham Turner, former chief executive of Tragus Group, which is now part of Big Table Group.
