Food hall operator Market Halls is to open its long-awaited site in London’s Canary Wharf in late March.
The launch was delayed by the pandemic, which led to the group using a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) to restructure the business and crowdfunding more than £600,000 on Seedrs to support its growth.
Market Hall’s Victoria site (pictured) is currently its only London location trading, with the Oxford Street site due to reopen following a refurbishment on 10 March. Its original Fulham venue has permanently closed.
The food line-up at Market Halls Canary Wharf Cargo will include traders from its existing sites such as Gopal’s Corner, DF Tacos and Baoziin, as well as new additions Le Bab, Pasta Evangelists and Inamo Sukoshi. Further traders will be announced nearer the opening.
The site will also host events such as mindfulness sessions, painting, book clubs, sustainable fashion swaps and exhibitions from local artists.
“We’re looking forward to diversifying our offering to bring a tailored approach reflecting exactly what our communities want to see from us,” said Market Halls founder Andy Lewis-Pratt.
“These new openings have provided us with the perfect opportunity to expand our events programming and work with even more fantastic food and drinks vendors.”
