Magnolia Park hotel to close for redevelopment

Magnolia Park Trading (UK) has announced the Magnolia Park Hotel and Golf Club in Buckinghamshire will close on 31 July for redevelopment.

The property closed in accordance with government advice on 23 March. The golf course reopened on 15 May and will remain open for socially distanced golf until 31 July, but the hotel will remain closed.

The owner has confirmed that the plan is to redevelop the hotel and grounds, "taking account of ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, and the long-term repercussions for the hotel business", with the property to be redeveloped as a hotel and golf resort.

Bespoke Hotels, which manages the property, confirmed all staff roles have been made redundant as there is no timescale for the hotel reopening.

The owners said the decision to close the hotel, which changed ownership in July 2019, "comes after careful consideration and consultation, including a detailed review of the long-term strategic options for the property".
