Restaurant group Ma Cuisine has acquired two new sites in south-west London bringing its portfolio of Ma Cuisine and El Vino eateries to six.
The company, which is owned by a former Michelin-starred restaurateur John McClements, has picked up sites in Barnes and Kew and is planning to spend a total of around £300,000 on refurbishing them.
The restaurant in Barnes will be a 50 to 60-cover Ma Cuisine scheduled to open in early summer, while the second site in Kew will open as a 60-cover El Vino in September.
"We are very excited to be expanding the Ma Cuisine and El Vino restaurant chains," said McClements. "Both restaurant concepts work very well as they provide value for money and we are hoping to have secured a further two properties by the end of the year."
Ma Cuisines, which serves traditional French food at reasonable prices, currently has outlets in Twickenham and Kew while tapas restaurant El Vino operates one, also in Twickenham. Both restaurants hold Bib Gourmands.
McClements won a Michelin star for his eponymous restaurant in Twickenham, but lost it when he changed the concept from fine dining to a brasserie.
