The restaurant team said it was preparing for a "new chapter"
Chef Nuno Mendes’ Lisboeta restaurant in London is to close after nearly four years and relaunch as a ‘brand-new dining experience’.
A post on the restaurant’s Instagram said it was preparing for “the next chapter of our story on Charlotte Street”.
Lisboeta, which was launched by Mendes in 2022 as a love letter to Lisbon and his native Portugal, will run its final dinner service on 23 August.
Further details of its relaunch will be revealed later this week.
The Instagram post said: “This Saturday 23 August will mark the final service at Lisboeta before we close for refurbishment works, as we prepare to transform the restaurant into a brand-new dining experience.
“Full details of the changes will be announced this Wednesday – keep your eyes peeled for what’s next!”
Lisboeta is recommended in the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2025, which praises its “vibrant and varied food and wine cultures” and "celebratory, lively and unabashedly noisy” atmosphere.
It is backed by restaurant group MJMK, which is also behind the Casa do Frango chicken restaurant group and Michelin-starred Kol in London.
Mendes was previously executive chef at Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone and co-founded Mãos, the 16-cover Michelin-starred restaurant in Shoreditch which closed in 2022.
