Lynch joined the Michelin-starred restaurant, which is led by Sofian Msetfi, three years ago as sous chef.
Kyle Lynch has been named head chef of the Michelin-starred Ormer Mayfair in London’s Flemings Mayfair hotel.
Lynch has more than 10 years’ experience in the industry and started out working across the US in Massachusetts and Florida.
Lynch then moved to Ireland, where he first met Sofian Msetfi, executive chef at Ormer Mayfair, at Adare Manor’s Michelin-starred Oak Room restaurant in Cavan, Ireland.
After three years he joined Japanese restaurant Ichigo Ichie in Cork. In 2021 he took up a sous chef position at Ormer Mayfair to continue working with Mstefi.
Now, as head chef, Lynch is responsible for the development of the restaurant’s seasonal British tasting menu and the day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
Lynch said: “I’m delighted to step up in this new role and oversee the talented kitchen team at the restaurant while continuing to learn and be inspired by Sofian, who is a great talent. I look forward to continuing to provide exciting and creative culinary experiences for our diners.”
Ormer Mayfair received its first Michelin star this year and also holds four AA rosettes. Its five- and seven-course tasting menus showcase produce from the restaurant’s two-acre kitchen garden in Essex.
