Rob Paterson has been announced as the new chief executive of Best Western Great Britain's parent company Interchange & Consort Hotels (ICH).
He joins from Village Hotels where he is currently commercial director, and replaces Rob Payne, who announced his resignation from Best Western GB in the summer after just two years.
Paterson will join the company in mid-February. His 16-year career includes positions with hotel brands such as AccorHotels, De Vere, Malmaison and Hotel du Vin.
Tim Rumney, chairman of Best Western GB, said: "We are very positive about Rob's appointment at this stage in the evolution of our business. Rob's strong track record in hospitality, his future facing approach to technology, digital and commercial performance impressed us and we look forward to welcoming him to the business."
Paterson said: "The potential of the brands and the organisation excites me and I look forward to building on the great work of the last three years and continuing to grow the appeal of Best Western for hoteliers, investors and guests."
Best Western GB also announced last month that it is launching its newest brand, Sure Hotels by Best Western, which has economy, mid-scale and soft brand options. It currently has more than 250 member hotels, all of which are independently owned.
