[Gordon Ramsay]thecaterer.com/tag/gordon-ramsay) is being sued by a former restaurant manager that he had fired on the US version of his reality TV show Kitchen Nightmares.
Martin Hyde, the former general manager of Dillons, an Indian restaurant in New York's theatre district, has filed a lawsuit at the US District Court in Manhattan.
Hyde claims exaggerations about the restaurant's condition made in the show will destroy its reputation and the good name of the people who worked there.
The former restaurant manager has asked the edition of the show featuring Dillons, due to be shown in September, be blocked.
Hyde claims in his lawsuit that Ramsay lied about finding rotten meat at the restaurant, hired actors to patronise it so it would appear it had grown in popularity since the chef's intervention and unfairly targeted Hyde to manufacture a confrontation for the show.
A representative for Ramsay told Reuters said that he has not yet reviewed the lawsuit.
