Endo Kazutoshi opens ‘little sister' to Rotunda restaurant

The team behind Michelin-starred Endo at Rotunda in London's White City has opened a "casual yet elegant little sister" sushi restaurant in Notting Hill called Sumi.

Named after chef-owner Endo Kazutoshi's mother, Sumi will initially offer click and collect and local delivery until restrictions are lifted and will then open its doors to diners, with head chef Yasuda Akinori in the kitchen.

The current menu includes four boxes, with the Sumi box (£45) featuring sashimi and sushi alongside robata-grilled salmon, tuna two ways, bara chirashi – a selection of premium fresh and cured fish – akami tuna, toro tuna, Japanese hamachi yellowtail, Scottish scallops, sea bream and unagi eel.

A vegan box (£25) includes vegetable roll, deep-friend agedashi tofu, seasonal mushroom rice, grilled vegetables and kompu garden salad.
