The creative chef previously won acclaim for his 108 Garage and Fiend restaurants.
Former 108 Garage chef Chris Denney is to head up a new restaurant in London’s Chelsea when it opens this summer.
Fantomas is backed by George Bukhov-Weinstein and Ilya Demichev, the duo behind the Wild Tavern, Beast, Belvedere and Lita Bistro restaurants in the capital.
It will occupy a 2,000 sq ft space at 300 King’s Road and will seat 80 covers inside and outside.
Denney will serve a modern European menu incorporating elements of Asian flavours, alongside an extensive wine and cocktail list.
The chef won acclaim for his playful cuisine at the now-closed 108 Garage restaurant, focusing on European cuisine but with flavours inspired by his travels in Thailand and India.
He also ran Fiend in Notting Hill, which received rave reviews upon its launch, but closed in 2022.
More recently, Denney ran a residency at Notting Hill’s Caia restaurant.
Bukhov-Weinstein said: “Following the success of concepts such as Wild Tavern and Belvedere, we understand the market and know the kinds of concepts that will thrive in Chelsea.
“We are excited to work with chef Chris Denney and bring this concept to life. It will be an amazing new experience for our guests.”
Fantomas is the latest restaurant to open as part of the Sloane Stanley estate, which also includes Josephine by Claude Bosi on Fulham Road and Bluebird on King’s Road.
Fantomas dealt direct, whilst Miles Commercial and Levy Real Estate represented the Sloane Stanley Estate.
