Bake Off: The Professionals judge and pastry expert Cherish Finden has been appointed executive pastry chef at the Pan Pacific London hotel, due to open early 2021.
The pastry chef, born in Singapore, will be responsible for creating the hotel’s entire pastry collection, joining from the role of creative development chef at Godiva.
She joins Lorraine Sinclair, who was recently appointed executive chef at the 237-bedroom hotel in the City.
The appointment sees Finden's return to Pan Pacific, having worked at the Pan Pacific Singapore in 1991. She has since headed the pastry offering at hotels including Raffles Hotel Singapore, the Sheraton Tower Singapore, and the Langham London. She has also been a judge for the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts' Annual Awards of Excellence and the Association of Pastry Chefs.
Finden said: “I am delighted to be part of the Pan Pacific London team and I look forward to bringing my Singaporean heritage to the pastries that we will create. It will be a celebration of a slice of Singapore in London, a fusion of two of the most vibrant and dynamic cities in the world”.
Pan Pacific London, located in One Bishopsgate Plaza, will have two restaurants and bars, a wellbeing floor with treatment rooms, a gym and fitness area, café, 18.5m indoor infinity pool, and two floors of meeting rooms and event spaces, as well as the largest ballroom in the square mile.
The hotel is the first in Europe for Pan Pacific Hotels Groups, which is owned by Singaporean property group UOL, and will be led by general manager Anne Golden.
