Charlotte Ivers has been named restaurant critic of The Sunday Times.
Her appointment comes a year after the departure of Marina O’Loughlin in October 2022, who held the role for five years.
Ivers was most recently a columnist for The Sunday Times and was previously a political correspondent for Times Radio.
She has also written for the New Statesman and made television appearances on Question Time and Have I Got News for You.
Prior to her career in journalism, she was a former media operations officer at 10 Downing Street.
Posting the news on X, formerly Twitter, Ivers said: “Honestly the most absurd privilege to follow in the footsteps of AA Gill and Marina O’Loughlin, whose writing I have adored for years, and god I hope to do it justice.”
Jay Rayner, restaurant critic for the Observer, commented: “Well that’s a lovely piece by which to announce yourself. Congrats on the new gig.”
