The Cornwall-based business, which has 10 sites across the South West, had briefly fallen into administration due to a myriad of cost pressures.
Cornwall-based burger chain Hub Box has been bought out of administration in a pre-pack deal by South West Restaurants Limited, saving 300 staff.
The 10-strong business, which started out of a shipping container in 2012 and has since grown its sites into Taunton, Truro and St Ives, had been working with advisers from Interpath Advisory to explore investment options.
However, due to the added pressures on cashflow from rising food, energy, and labour costs, Interpath Advisory were appointed joint administrators of the 10-strong business on 11 July and immediately secured a sale of all of its assets to South West Restaurants.
All of Hub Box’s restaurants will continue to trade under its brand, while all 300 staff are being transferred to the purchaser.
Sam Birchall, head of special situations at Interpath Advisory, who led the transaction, said: “Hub Box has grown a loyal customer base in the South West but, like many other casual dining operators, has been hit hard in recent years by high cost inflation.
“We’re pleased to have secured this transaction which safeguards the future of the brand and which, importantly, preserves employment for 300 staff. We wish all at the company the best for the future.”
