Big Mamma group has announced that it will be opening Italian restaurant Carlotta in London’s Marylebone in May.
It comes after the four-storey, 170-cover Jacuzzi restaurant launched in London’s Kensington this January.
Chef Armando of Carlotta, who is originally from eastern Napoli, has devised a menu that was heavily influenced by his Nonna, who ran a trattoria in the 1950s.
Dishes infuse Neapolitan and Sicilian classics with an American twist and are set to include: rosé veal tartare; tempura shrimp cocktail; penne alla vodka with Cornish crab; and lamb arrosticini skewers.
Dessert will also feature the giant ten-tiered choco fudge cake.
The drinks offering ranges from whisky sours to red Italian vintages.
Interior design highlights include a Venetian marble bar, leather booths with mirrors and golden drapes, a downstairs 80s midnight blue open kitchen, a skylit dining room and red terrace.
