The Vineyard Group has stepped down from managing the 45-bedroom Kings Head hotel in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, two years after the 16th-century former coaching inn opened as a hotel.
Bespoke Hotels is now operating the business on behalf of property developer Mark Booth, owner of Wildmoor Properties.
The £7m transformation of what was previously a rundown building into a chic, boutique hotel took nearly seven years, during which time a Roman mosaic was discovered during an archaeological dig.
Andrew McKenzie, managing director of the Vineyard Group, which owns the Vineyard hotel near Newbury, Berkshire, was heavily involved throughout the renovation process.
Many of the original team who opened the hotel have now left, including the general Stephen Mannock, executive chef Wayne Sullivan and restaurant manager Alan Holmes.
Today the general manager is Sally Russell and the executive chef is Russell Hunt.
