Chef Andrew Sheridan has been named as one of the new owners set to reopen a waterfront restaurant in Sutton Coldfield in early 2024.
Sheridan and his business partners Sam and Emma Morgan of Open Restaurants Group (ORG) have joined efforts to relaunch the Bracebridge in Four Oaks.
The takeover is part of a community venture after the popular local restaurant was closed and put up for sale in October.
Plans for the site include the launch of an on-site bakery offering fresh breads, pastries and artisan pizzas.
Although Sheridan will not cook at the restaurant, he will design the menus and train staff as executive chef.
“This is a really exciting new venture for Open Restaurant Group, and to be part of local community efforts to save this popular restaurant makes it even more special,” said Sheridan.
“We will be putting a highly trusted team in place to deliver traditional British classics elevated with the use of top-quality ingredients, and exceptional service.”
Sheridan’s flagship restaurant, 8 By Andrew Sheridan, relocated from Birmingham to Liverpool in April. It holds three-AA-rosettes and is recommended in the Michelin Guide.
ORG also runs two neighbourhood restaurants: Black & Green, in Barnt Green, Worcestershire, and OXA, which took over the former site of the Michelin-starred Fraiche restaurant in Oxton in 2023.
