Rainforest-themed restaurant Amazónico is set to open in Mayfair’s Berkeley Square in mid-November.
The Dogus International Group (DIG) restaurant has agreed a lease on the 9,000 sq ft 10 Berkeley Square, formerly home to AIB Bank, for a rent of £1m a year.
Planning documents reveal plans for 258 covers with an additional 23 in a lounge bar.
The original Amazónico opened in Madrid in 2016, led by chef Sandro Silva, and serves a menu incorporating tropical, Asian, Mediterranean and Brazilian cuisine.
DIG already operates or has interests in seven restaurants in London, including Zuma in Knightsbridge, Roka in Fitzrovia, Inko Nito in Soho, Oblix at the Shard, Coya and Ruya in Mayfair and Tom Aikens’ Tom’s Kitchen portfolio.
Restaurant Property acted for Amazónico in securing the lease, and Hanover Green for the landlord.
