Relais & Châteaux has announced 11 Cadogan Gardens as its only hotel member in London.
The five-AA-star, 56-bedroom hotel is now the third property within the Iconic Luxury Hotels portfolio, alongside Chewton Glen and Cliveden House, to join the consortium. Chewton Glen was the first UK hotel to join the body in 1971.
Located in Chelsea, just off Sloane Square, 11 Cadogan Gardens was built by Lord Chelsea in the late 19th century as part of the Cadogan Estate. It today features Hans’ Bar & Grill which last month appointed Luke Phillips as had chef. Phillips, who competed in MasterChef: The Professionals in 2018, joined the hotel from Chewton Glen where he was sous chef.
Andrew Stembridge, executive director, Iconic Luxury Hotels, said: “We are proud that 11 Cadogan Gardens has been welcomed into the Relais & Châteaux family and has become the association’s only London hotel.
“A quintessential British building, the property is exquisitely designed and offers impeccable service - both pillars that stay true to the ethos of Relais & Châteaux. It’s amazing to see the hotel now standing amongst the world’s finest hotels and restaurants.”
Philippe Gombert, president of Relais & Châteaux, added: "We are very happy to count 11 Cadogan Gardens as a member of our family. This is a perfect example of what Relais & Châteaux is: properties anchored in their region, ambassadors of their heritage, but also passionate about their craft. The hotel is perfectly located and will offer a delicious immersion into London for our guests."
Relais & Châteaux has a worldwide membership of 580 hotels across more than 60 countries, including 33 properties in the UK.
