Tender: bar and catering franchise opportunity at Hazel Grove Golf Club

Founded in 1913, it received plaudits for being a ‘Club for Everyone’ - awarded the prestigious England Golf Union’s ‘Golf Club of the Year’ in 2022. We are presently looking to outsource the food and drinks services to an experienced business partner, who would be keen to maximise the potential our facilities offer.

With a playing and social membership of over 500 members, the club offers a well-equipped commercial kitchen. There is a large bar area, separate dining room with seating for around 120 and balcony. 

In addition to members’ social functions, we provide for society bookings, inter-club matches, corporate golf days and catering for private parties (including weddings and celebrations) throughout the year. Following a strategic review of the club’s operations, we are now inviting interested parties / individuals (“franchise partner”) to apply for the franchise agreement to supply and manage all aspects of the Bar and Catering services which will become available from October 2025. 

The position requires the franchise partner to manage all areas of our Bar and Catering operations providing a high level of food and service standards in keeping with the quality of our golf course and the elevated customer experience we offer to everyone who comes to the club. The franchise partner will be an integral part of the club’s operational team, and on occasions will be the front of house contact for visitors to the club.

We recognise that there is scope to develop the club’s social membership in the wider community and would look to the franchise partner to explore and make the most of the business growth opportunities once in post.

On-site accommodation with a two-bedroom cottage adjacent to the clubhouse may be available, subject to agreed terms and conditions.

We are seeking an enthusiastic caterer with a proven track record in operating their own food and drinks business. They must have the ambition and ability to deliver an excellent bar and dining experience for members and visitors across a range of catering activities within a golf club (or similar hospitality) environment.

This would include:

• hot and cold sandwiches / snacks 
• team match and visiting party meals 
• club social function dining / themed dining events 
• member and non-member private functions / celebrations 
• hot and cold snacks served from the Halfway House facility 
• a full bar service for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, teas and coffees etc.
