MasterChef: The Professionals judge Monica Galetti and her husband David open Mere in London's Fitzrovia in January 2017.
The couple's first restaurant, located at 74 Charlotte Street, will be in partnership with Westbury Street Holdings (WSH).
Galetti said: âFor many years, itâs been Davidâs and my dream to open a restaurant together. In Mere, we want to deliver a restaurant thatâs relaxed and casual, but with no compromise on comfort, or the quality of the food and wines on offer. The kind of place we both like to visit and one thatâs personal and welcoming.â
The venue will be split level, with a bar on the raised ground floor seating 20 guests for bar snacks, cocktails and drinks. The downstairs restaurant will accommodate up to 64 guests.
Menus will be seasonal with a mixture of both Galettiâs lighter take on the classics and new dishes currently in development.
She added: âThe menu will be pretty straightforward. I want to create the kind of food and environment that guests can visit regularly and come to Mere to just relax - whether itâs a business lunch or an evening with friends and family.â
The Caterer first revealed Galettiâs plans to open a new restaurant back in September 2015, after the former senior sous chef from Le Gavroche announced she had secured backing from WSH chairman Alastair Storey.
