The third annual Women 1st conference will be held on 3 July at London's Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, it has been announced.
The conference is hosted by the Women 1st initiative, which seeks to increase the number of women working in senior positions in hospitality and tourism, and will centre on the theme "unlocking your potential".
Sessions and workshops will help delegates to boost their careers and confidence, with high-profile female speakers already confirmed, such as Huffington Post UK editor-in-chief Carla Buzasi; Women 1st patron Lynne Franks; and psychologist Dr. Linda Papadopolous, who is often interviewed for television and radio, and writes for national publications.
Last year's event attracted over 150 visitors. Although the programme will focus on women in the industry, the event is also open to men, and aims to be useful to anyone working in hospitality.
Early bird tickets cost £299 (as opposed to the usual £349 price) if booked before 31 March, and are available on the Women 1st website here [www.women1st.co.uk/conference].
Women 1st was developed by hospitality skills specialist People 1stin 2009, in response to their statistics showing that only six percent of director level positions in hospitality are held by women, even though they are said to make up over 60% of the entire workforce. It provides training programmes and workshops for women throughout the UK.
Simone Roche, director of Women 1st, said: ""Our research shows that a lack of networking opportunities is one of the biggest barriers to women progressing in our industries.
"This conference is a brilliant opportunity for women in hospitality to meet people and make new contacts, hear first-hand advice from senior leaders, and boost their own skills and confidence."
