Did you know that by entering The Caterer’s Best Places to Work in Hospitality awards you might be in chance of winning a Catey?
Winning a coveted Catey showcases unparalleled excellence within hospitality. And this display of excellence is of vital importance to those who are keen to attract and retain the best talent in the sector.
The Cateys’ Best Employer Award goes to the company which exhibits the most enlightened and effective employment practice and which prove they can attract, train, motivate and retain the country’s best hospitality staff.
But did you know that to be in with a chance to win the Best Employer Award at the Cateys, the business must first be nominated and shortlisted into The Caterer’s Best Places to Work in Hospitality awards?
Run in partnership with Korero and sponsored by Umbrella Training, the Best Places to Work awards identifies and showcases the top 30 operators which lead the way in people engagement and workplace culture. The top six operators are then invited to be shortlisted for the Best Employer Award at the Cateys in July.
Last year’s Catey winner of the Best Employer Award was Gleneagles, in Auchterarder.
The Scottish luxury hotel’s people and culture director Emma Simpson said the company’s initiatives, such as ‘Moments that Matter’, a framework where the hotel supports its staff through moments of genuine need in their lives, as well as engaging with staff on a meaningful level on how and where the business can work for them, are just some of the reasons for their nomination and ultimate win.
The globally-renowned hotel which, in the summer months can employ up to 1,600 staff, recognised a need to transform its employee experience in 2019.
Simpson said that “winning a Catey was the one industry award that meant more to us than any other”, adding the award “reflected our journey of transformation at Gleneagles, and it reinforced our commitment to continue evolving as an employer, evolving around the ever-changing needs and expectations of our people”.
She added: “I think in part, that’s because there’s an unwritten responsibility and expectation that we feel comes hand in hand with this award. It’s the expectation that you’ll continue to be better and do better as a business in terms of how you support your people. We’ll continue to build on our successes and that as committed as ever, to ensure that our people are given an equally outstanding experience as our guests."
So, if you feel passionate that your company is the best employer in the sector and want to see it shortlisted for a Catey, then enter it for Best Places to Work now.
